The role:
We are seeking a Seamer Specialist to lead the Fill and Cap department of our clients’ tuna cannery based in American Samoa.  This role will see you managing a team of people to provide preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure the reliability and safe operation of the plants manufacturing equipment. The plant typically packs fish Monday through to Friday, with any required maintenance conducted on the weekends. This role offers an attractive salary paid in US dollars, an additional overseas allowance (10% of your base salary) and a bonus system (based on the company’s performance). The role also offers free housing and utilities, a company vehicle and return flights home once per year.

A day in the life of a Seamer Specialist:
The role will see you and your team providing technical support for the upkeep of the plants mass conveyors, filler machines (Carruthers and Luthi), seamers (Continental and Angelus) and associated plant. A typical day will see you involved in the following:

•    Meetings with engineering manager and other engineering staff to put together programs to ensure plants reliable and safe operation
•    Setting and directing tasks for maintenance teams to carry out daily
•    Auditing can seamers to evaluate their condition
•    Providing mechanical training programs for team mechanics
•    Assisting with rebuild, diagnostics and repairs of all filling equipment
•    Direct and make seamer adjustments as required
•    Ordering spare parts to repair and maintain all Fill and Cap machinery

What we require from you:
You will have a positive can-do attitude, with the ability to function well under pressure, communicate in a clear concise professional manner and will have proven experience in supervising/mentoring and getting the best out of maintenance teams.  You will be skilled in the following:

•    Skilled in working with Angelus and Continental seamers
•    Experience within the food industry
•    A minimum of ten years’ professional maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, industrial or related field.
•    Proven experience in supervision of maintenance staff
